I was wondering if you could help me. I have a Falcon F16V3 that I plan on using this year in my Christmas Display for my mega tree, smart trees and roof line that will be done with smart pixels. I have a 30 channel dumb controller that I used last year for the rest of my props that have dumb pixels.
I plan on using Xlights and have the songs sequenced and have yet to upload the setup to the Falcon.

How do I connect the Falcon to the dumb controller? I was using an active dongle with the dumb controller. I have Xlights setup for E1.3.1 for the smart pixels and DMX for the other props.
I hope you can help me.
I like all your videos, they are very informative.
    Thank You
    Al

    Al,
The serial outputs of the F16V3 are either DMX or used for a differential receiver. If the input on the dumb controller can handle DMX (for example) then it can work. If it accepts E1.31, then you can daisy-chain from the F16. If it’s proprietary, then you’ll have to use the dongle and set it up as an output in xLight (I suppose). You mention you have DMX for the other props so is that the dongle/dumb controller or something else? If the dumb controller can accept DMX inputs, then I believe you could use the DMX output on the F16. I don’t have any DMX running so this is a little out of my wheelhouse here. You might try asking this on the Wednesday night xLights call. I’m sure someone in there can walk you through it.

Question on the FM. Can you have more than one fm in one setup. Like one at the beginning of the string an another half way if signal is getting low at the end. I have no reason at this time for asking just wondering if this is possible

Oh, haha. I was wondering what FM had to do with the video you commented on. LOL! Sure. The F-Amp just boosts the SPI data signal. You can use it anywhere you want.
