I put some lights out for Halloween and ran a few sequences. Still have a lot to get done for Christmas. I got a new crimper!
I had a little problem with the mini trees. I put them together backwards. I’ll show you the difference. I also had a pixel go out on my matrix so I show the repair. Thankfully, the weather cooperated.
Virtual Christmas Summit is this weekend so sign up now if you aren’t already. Also, I go over a little more on xLights custom models.
I didn’t like the way the star was modelled so I decided to convert it to a custom model and wired it the way I wanted.
The annual pixel order came in and I can build some props! Starting off with some modular matrix panels.
Taking a quick look at the new Smart (chain-able) differential deceivers. Also go through a Falcon F16V3 firmware upgrade to support the new boards.
I built a large 4’x16′ pixel matrix using Chroma Mesh from Boscoyo and 1,024 5V pixels. I show how to model this in xLights to get the wiring plan and I built is as a single string of lights using one controller connection. This requires a lot of power injection. but it’s pretty easy to do on a matrix.
A funky version of Joy To The World that’s a neighborhood child favorite. Camera is a Sony FDRAX53/B 4K HD camcorder (https://amzn.to/2Qu24CQ). Multiple camera angles mixed in Adobe Premiere.
I had some time this past weekend to work on one of the props bothering me a little. The new frame did what I wanted. After reaching a stopping point, I noticed something really bad.
